This is THE BEST!!!!!! So easy to understand and oh so accurate.

From a teacher in the Nashville area.

"We are worried about 'the cow' when it is all about the 'Ice Cream.'

The most eye-opening civics lesson I ever had was while teaching third grade in 2008.

The presidential election was heating up and some of the children showed an interest. I decided that we would have an electionfor a class president.

We would choose our nominees.

They would make a campaign speechand the class would vote.

To simplify the process, candidates were nominated by other class members.

We discussed what kinds of characteristics these students should have.

We got many nominations and from those, Jamie and Olivia were picked to run for the top spot.

The class had done a great job in their selections. Both candidates were good kids.

I thought Jamie might have an advantage because he got lots of parental support.

I had never seen Olivia's mother. The day for their speeches arrived.
Jamie went first.
He had specific ideas about how to make our class a betterplace.

He ended by promising to do his very best.

Everyone applauded and he sat down.
Now is was Olivia's turn to speak.

Her speech was concise.

She said, "If you vote for me, I will give you ice cream."

She sat down.

The class went wild.

"Yes! Yes! We want ice cream."

She surely would say more.

She did not have to.

A discussion followed.

How did she plan to pay for the ice cream?

She wasn't sure.

Would her parents buy it or would the class pay for it? She didn't know.

The class really didn't care.

All they were thinking about was ice cream.

Jamie was forgotten.

Olivia won by a landslide.

Every time Barack Obama opened his mouth he offered ice cream and 52 percent of the people reacted like nine year olds.
They want ice cream.

The other 48 percent know they're going to have to feed the cow and clean up the mess.

This is the ice cream Obama promised us!

Remember, the government cannot give--anything to anyone --that they have not first taken away from someone else.
Did you vote for the ice cream?

Remember this: November is Take Out the Trash month!

Here's to US!!!!

No matter what our kids and the new generation think about us, WE ARE AWESOME !!!!

OUR LIFE IS LIVING PROOF !!!!

To Those of Us Born 1930 - 1969

At the end of this email is a quote of the month by Jay Leno.. If you don't read anything else, please read what he said..

Very well stated, Mr. Leno.

TO ALL THE KIDS WHO SURVIVED THE 1930's,40's,50's,60's and 70's!!

First, we survived being born to mothers who smoked and/or drank while they were pregnant.

They took aspirin, ate blue cheese dressing, tuna from a can and didn't get tested for diabetes.

Then after that trauma, we were put to sleep on our tummies in baby cribs covered with bright colored lead-base paints....

We had no childproof lids on medicine bottles, locks on doors or cabinets and when we rode our bikes, we had baseball caps not helmets on our heads.

As infants & children, we would ride in cars with no car seats, no booster seats, no seat belts, no air bags, bald tires and sometimes no brakes.

Riding in the back of a pick- up truck on a warm day was always a special treat.

We drank water from the garden hose and not from a bottle.

We shared one soft drink with four friends, from one bottle and no one actually died from this.

We ate cupcakes, white bread, real butter and bacon. We drank Kool-Aid made with real white sugar. And, we weren't overweight WHY?

Because we were always outside playing...that's why!

We would leave home in the morning and play all day, as long as we were back when the streetlights came on..
No one was able to reach us all day. And, we were OKAY.

We would spend hours building our go-carts out of scraps and then ride them down the hill, only to find out we forgot the brakes. After running into the bushes a few times, we learned to solve the problem

We did not have Play stations, Nintendo's and X-boxes. There were no video games, no 150 channels on cable, no video movies or DVD's, no surround-sound or CD's, no cell phones, no personal computers, no Internet and no chat rooms.

WE HAD FRIENDS and we went outside and found them!

We fell out of trees, got cut, broke bones and teeth and there were no lawsuits from these accidents.

We would get spankings with wooden spoons, switches, ping pong paddles, or just a bare hand and no one would call child services to report abuse.

We ate worms and mud pies made from dirt, and the worms did not live in us forever.

We were given BB guns for our 10th birthdays, made up games with sticks and tennis balls and, although we were told it would happen, we did not put out very many eyes.

We rode bikes or walked to a friend's house and knocked on the door or rang the bell, or just walked in and talked to them.

Little League had tryouts and not everyone made the team. Those who didn't had to learn to deal with disappointment.

Imagine that!!

The idea of a parent bailing us out if we broke the law was unheard of. They actually sided with the law!

These generations have produced some of the best risk-takers, problem solvers and inventors ever.

The past 50 years have been an explosion of innovation and new ideas.

We had freedom, failure, success and responsibility, and we learned how to deal with it all.

If YOU are one of them, CONGRATULATIONS!

You might want to share this with others who have had the luck to grow up as kids, before the lawyers and the government regulated so much of our lives for our own good..

While you are at it, forward it to your kids so they will know how brave and lucky their parents were..

Kind of makes you want to run through the house with scissors, doesn't it?

The of quote of the month is by Jay Leno:

'With hurricanes, tornados, fires out of control, mud slides, flooding, severe thunderstorms tearing up the country from one end to another, and with the threat of bird flu and terrorist attacks, are we sure this is a good time to take God out of the Pledge of Allegiance?'

For those that prefer to think that God is not watching over us...delete this.

For The rest of us...pass this on...

Subject: Wal-Mart vs. the Morons

1. Americans spend $36,000,000 at Wal-Mart every hour of every day.

2. This works out to $20,928 profit every Minute!

3. Wal-Mart will sell more from January 1 to St. Patrick's Day (March 17th) than Target Sells all year.

5. Wal-Mart employs 1.6 million people, is the world's largest private employer, and most Speak English.

6. Wal-Mart is the largest company in the History of the world.

11. This year 7.2 billion different purchasing Experiences will occur at Wal-Mart stores. (Earth's population is approximately 6.5 Billion.)

12. 90% of all Americans live within fifteen Miles of a Wal-Mart.

You may think that I am complaining, but I am really laying the ground work for suggesting That MAYBE we should hire the guys who run Wal-Mart to fix the economy.

This should be read and understood by all Americans - Democrats, Republicans, EVERYONE!!

To President Obama and all 535 voting members Of the Legislature:

It is now official that the majority of you Are corrupt morons:

A The U.S. Postal Service was established In 1775. You have had 234 years to get it right and it is broke.

B Social Security was established in 1935. You have had 74 years to get it right and it Is broke.

C Fannie Mae was established in 1938. You Have had 71 years to get it right and it is Broke.
D War on Poverty started in 1964. You have Had 45 years to get it right; $1 trillion of Our money is confiscated each year and Transferred to "the poor" and they only want More.

E Medicare and Medicaid were established in 1965. You have had 44 years to get it right And they are broke.
F Freddie Mac was established in 1970. You Have had 39 years to get it right and it is Broke.

G The Department of Energy was created in 1977 to lessen our dependence on foreign oil.

It Has ballooned to 16,000 employees with a Budget of $24 billion a year and we import More oil than ever before. You had 32 years to get it right and it is an abysmal failure.

You have FAILED in every "government service"

You have shoved down our throats while overspending our tax dollars.

AND YOU WANT AMERICANS TO BELIEVE YOU CAN BE TRUSTED WITH A GOVERNMENT-RUN HEALTH CARE SYSTEM??

We, need to keep this circulating. Maybe it will end up in the hands of

some of our "duly elected' (they never read anything but maybe their staff will clue them in on How Americans feel).

And I know what's wrong we have lost our minds to "Political Correctness”!

Someone please tell me what’s wrong with all the people that run this Country!

We're "broke" & can't help our own seniors, Veterans, Orphans, Homeless,

Etc., yet, in the last months we have provided Aid to Haiti, Chile, and Turkey.

And now, to Pakistan.....home of bin  Laden. Literally, BILLIONS of DOLLARS!!!

Our retired seniors living on a 'fixed Income receive no aid nor do they get

Any breaks while our government and  Religious organizations pour Hundreds

Of Billions of $$$$$$'s and Tons of  Food to Foreign Countries!

We have hundreds of adoptable children who are shoved aside to make room for

the adoption of foreign orphans.

AMERICA: a country where we have Homeless without shelter, children

Going to bed hungry, elderly going Without 'needed' meds, and mentally

Ill without treatment, -etc,etc.

YET They have a 'Benefit' for the people

Of Haiti on 12 TV stations, with ships and planes lining up with food, water,

Tents clothes, bedding, doctors and Medical supplies.

Imagine if the *GOVERNMENT* gave 'US' the same support they give to other

Countries.

Sad isn't it? 99% of people won't have the guts to forward this. I'm one of the 1% I Just Did

A Little Ticked Off

Rough language but she really makes her point clear!

I don't think pissed really covers it!!!!!!!!!!!

Alan Simpson, Senator from Wyoming , Co-Chair of Obama's deficit commission, calls senior citizens the Greediest Generation, as he compared "Social Security" to a Milk Cow with 310 million teats.
Here's a response in a letter from PATTY MYERS in Montana ... I think she is a little ticked off! She also tells it like it is!

"Hey Alan, let's get a few things straight!

1. As a career politician, you have been on the public dole for FIFTY YEARS.
2. I have been paying Social Security taxes for 48 YEARS (since I was 15 years old. I am now 63).
3. My Social Security payments, and those of millions of other Americans, were safely tucked away in an interest bearing account for decades until you political pukes decided to raid the account and give

OUR money to a bunch of zero ambition losers in return for votes, thus bankrupting the system and turning Social Security into a Ponzi scheme that would have made Bernie Madoff proud

4. Recently, just like Lucy & Charlie Brown, you and your ilk pulled the proverbial football away from millions of American seniors nearing retirement and moved the goalposts for full retirement from age 65
to age 67. NOW, you and your shill commission is proposing to move the goalposts YET AGAIN.

5. I, and millions of other Americans, have been paying into Medicare from Day One, and now you morons propose to change the rules of the game. Why? Because you idiots mismanaged other parts of the economy to such an extent that you need to steal money from Medicare to pay the bills.

6. I, and millions of other Americans, have been paying income taxes our entire lives, and now you propose to increase our taxes yet again. Why? Because you incompetent bastards spent our money so
profligately that you just kept on spending even after you ran out of money. Now, you come to the American taxpayers and say you need more to pay off YOUR debt.

To add insult to injury, you label us "greedy" for calling "bullshit" on your incompetence. Well, Captain Bullshit, I have a few questions for YOU.

1. How much money have you earned from the American taxpayers during your pathetic 50-year political career?

2. At what age did you retire from your pathetic political career, and how much are you receiving in annual retirement benefits from the American taxpayers?

3. How much do you pay for YOUR government provided health insurance?

4. What cuts in YOUR retirement and healthcare benefits are you proposing in your disgusting deficit reduction proposal, or, as usual, have you exempted yourself and your political cronies?

It is you, Captain Bullshit, and your political co-conspirators called Congress who are the "greedy" ones. It is you and your fellow nutcases who have bankrupted America and stolen the American dream from millions of loyal, patriotic taxpayers. And for what? Votes! That's right, sir. You and yours have bankrupted America for the sole purpose of advancing your pathetic political careers. You know it, we know it, and you know that we know it.

And you can take that to the bank, you miserable son of a bitch.

Black Pastors Group: Pride in Obama Has Turned to Shame

Friday, 06 Jul 2012 11:25 PM

By Todd Beamon

A coalition of African-American pastors is calling on blacks to boycott President Barack Obama and sign a petition demanding that the administration withdraw support for gay marriage.

The group, the 1,300-member Coalition of African-American Pastors, says it was snubbed by Obama and Attorney General Eric Holder when it demanded a meeting to discuss same-sex unions. The group had requested the meeting last month.

“By embracing gay marriage, President Obama is leading the country down an immoral path,” Rev. William Owens, president of the Memphis-based coalition, said on Friday, The Washington Examiner reports. “Some things are bigger than the next election.”

The pastors are angered with Obama’s recent endorsement of gay marriage. But the president has not suggested that he would back federal legislation permitting same-sex marriage.

The coalition supports African-American pastors who believe marriage should be between a man and a woman.

“The black church has always been the conscience of America, and today we are calling on black pastors and black Christians to withhold support from President Obama until he corrects course,” Owens said.

His group also started a petition, 100000signatures4marriage.com.

“We were once proud of President Obama, but our pride has turned to shame,” Owens said.

Libertarian Candidate Johnson: Just 'Say No To Government'

Friday, 06 Jul 2012 09:48 PM

By Jim Meyers and John Bachman

http://www.newsmax.com/Politics/Libertarian-Johnson-no-government/2012/07/06/id/444657?s=al&promo_code=F68E-1

Former New Mexico Gov. Gary Johnson, the Libertarian Party nominee for president in 2012, tells Newsmax the overriding theme of his White House candidacy is: “Say no to government.”

Johnson believes the United States should abolish the income tax and the IRS, end the war in Afghanistan and the war on drugs, cut tax loopholes and eliminate the jobs of half the lobbyists in Washington.

He also calls for a form of amnesty for illegal aliens in the country and the legalization of marijuana to stamp out violence along the U.S.-Mexican border.
Johnson served as Republican governor from 1995 to 2003, and sought the GOP presidential nomination in this election cycle. He withdrew from the race in December and won the Libertarian nomination on May 5.
In an exclusive interview with Newsmax.TV, Johnson was asked why he believes 2012 is the right time for American voters to leave the two dominant political parties.

“I’m representative of most Americans and I am speaking with a broad brushstroke and the notion that most people are fiscally responsible and socially accepting, tolerant,” he said.

“I’m the only candidate that wants to get out of Afghanistan tomorrow, end the wars. I’m the only candidate that wants to end the drug war. I’m the only candidate that wants to repeal the Patriot Act. I’m the only candidate that’s talking about marriage equality as being a constitutionally guaranteed right. I’m the only candidate that wants to balance the federal budget now, and that means reforming the entitlements: Medicaid, Medicare.

"So there is a third choice and it’s a considerably different choice. I wouldn’t be sitting here right now if I didn’t have a résumé to suggest that I would doggedly pursue the agenda that I’m talking about.

"I do have more executive experience — governmental executive experience — than the other two candidates combined. And for those that would roll their eyes and say, ‘Oh my gosh, all we need is another politician,’ my experience is that I have may have vetoed more legislation as governor of New Mexico than the other 49 governors in the country combined.

“So my experience is saying no to government. No to government spending, no to laws that really would just add time and money for you and I to have to comply with those laws.

“Everybody says, ‘There’s gridlock. We need cooperation between the two parties.’ Cooperation between Democrats and Republicans, that is code for how do we spend more money. I have no intention of spending more money.
As to why he served as a Republican governor but is now running for the White House as a Libertarian, Johnson said, “I really got shut out of the whole debate process. CNN really is the one that set that in stone.

"The message that I’m sending is similar to that of Ron Paul, and my voice is representative of the largest, fastest growing segment of American politics today, the whole Libertarian-leaning, Democrats-slashLibertarian, Republican-slash-Libertarian, Libertarian.

“I wouldn’t be doing this if there wasn’t a scenario that I could actually win, and that scenario would be polling at 15 percent and being on the national debate stage.

Right now, out of the 18 polling organizations, two of the organizations are including my name in the polls and I’m polling anywhere from a low of six percent to a high of 15. Most important is just getting in the polls right now.”
Johnson earned the nickname “Governor Veto” during his two terms in New Mexico, largely for cutting spending programs. Asked if cutting spending at the federal level would be more difficult, he responded: “I wouldn’t think so.

“What we want as citizens of this country is to elect leaders that actually are going to go in and fix the problems. I really think that unless we balance the federal budget, we’re going to find ourselves in a monetary collapse. What’s a monetary collapse? Well, it’s when the dollars that you have in your pocket don’t buy anything. And I am talking about the history of other countries that embark on spending like we’re doing.”

Johnson dismissed concerns that sharply cutting defense spending will impair economic growth, saying that was one of the big concerns after World War II, but exactly the opposite happened.

“I am promising to advocate on the part of the Fair Tax, throwing out the entire federal tax system," he added. "No more income tax, no more corporate tax, no more IRS — abolish the IRS, abolish the tax withholdings from your payroll check and replace it with one federal tax, a consumption tax.

“No more IRS, no more having to spend any time with withholdings or loopholes.

“It’s a phase-in over a couple of years, but it’s really an exciting notion that we would issue pink slips to half of Washington lobbyists, because half of Washington lobbyists are there to buy loopholes. Loopholes are for sale. Both parties sell them. All that goes away.”

Johnson also wants to cut federal spending on education and abolish the Department of Education.

“The Department of Education was created in 1979, under Jimmy Carter. So if you take educational performance in this country since 1979, there is nothing — nothing — to suggest that the federal Department of Education is value-added when it comes to education.

“The Department of Education gives each state about 11 cents out of every school dollar that every state spends. But it comes with 16 cents worth of strings attached. So what people don’t understand is that it’s really a negative to take federal money.

“If you just returned education to the states, you would have 50 laboratories of innovation. The notion of one-size-fits-all Washington, that’s crazy.

“As governor of New Mexico, I may have been more outspoken than any governor in the country regarding school choice, bringing competition to public education. So in this context of 50 laboratories of innovation, I think states [should] devolve education to the local level.”

As for his reaction to the Supreme Court’s decision striking down most of the Arizona immigration law, Johnson tells Newsmax: “First of all, I think states should have the right to determine their own policies. In this case, Arizona thinks they have a better way of dealing with immigration than the Federal government. I think Arizona should have at it.

“But let me tell you, if I had been presented with Arizona’s immigration bill as governor, I would have vetoed that legislation. I think it has led to discrimination. So the Supreme Court ruling, from my standpoint, accurately reflects what is happening.

“I think we should make it as easy as possible for somebody who wants to come into this country and work to get a work visa — not a Green Card, not citizenship, but a work visa. And let’s not build a fence, that would be an incredible waste of time and money in my opinion.

He said a work visa would entail a background check and a Social Security card, so applicable taxes get paid, adding, 'If we applied the Fair Tax, taxes would not be an issue at all because whether you’re legal, illegal, a visitor to this country or a U.S. citizen, you are not going to be able to avoid a federal consumption tax.

“With regard to the 11 million illegal immigrants that are in this country right now, I think we need to set up a grace period where we can document those illegal immigrants. Then let’s look at the root cause of border violence, which I would suggest is the prohibition of drugs.

“Legalize marijuana and arguably 75 percent of that border violence with Mexico goes away. There have been 40,000 deaths south of the border over the last four years — this is a Prohibition phenomenon where disputes are being played out with guns rather than the courts.

“I really think that marijuana legalization is at a tipping point. Fifty percent of Americans now support legalizing marijuana. More people are talking about it than ever before. And the more people talk about it, the better the issue does because people understand that this drug problem is a Prohibition phenomenon. We tried this when it came to alcohol.

“It’s on the ballot right now in Colorado. Regulate marijuana like alcohol. I think that Colorado is going to pass that legislation. People get to vote on it. I really think that Colorado will be the first domino of 50 dominos to fall.”

Discussing the major challenge he now faces as a third-party candidate, Johnson said: “I need to be in the polls. So what I’m going to ask everybody watching this interview is, just get on our website, garyjohnson2012.com, and get a phone number for the 18 polling organizations. Give them a call and ask them to put my name in the polls.
“I’m confident that if my name just appeared in the polls, 15 percent would be something that in fact would be achieved. I am one of three candidates that’s going to be on the ballot in all 50 states. With just a little bit of push, people would take a look at what I’ve done, and that’s all I ask people to do. Just have a look.”

People on Disability Payments Hits Record 8.7 Million

Monday, 02 Jul 2012 08:55 PM

By Todd Beamon

http://www.newsmax.com/Newsfront/disability-payments-record-numbers/2012/07/02/id/444255?s=al&promo_code=F5E2-1

More than 8.7 million people took federal disability payments in June — more than the population of New York City, the Social Security Administration reports.
In June, 8,733,461 workers received payments, up from 8,707,185 in May, with an average payment of $1,111.42, cnsnews.com reports.

Both figures exceed the population of New York City — 8,244,910 — according to Census figures.
According to CNSNews.com, the 2012 figures continue to illustrate the dramatic shrinkage in the number of American citizens actually employed and earning paychecks over the past 20 years.

In June 1992, for instance, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, 118,419,000 people were working in the United States, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics – but only 3,334,333 workers were claiming federal disability payments.

That amounted to one person on disability for every 35.5 people actually working.

But when President Barack Obama was inaugurated in January 2009, those employed totaled 142,187,000, while 7,442,377 people were taking federal disability payments – or about 1 person on disability per 19.1 people actually working.

As for the May 2012 figures, 8,707,185 were claiming disability payments compared with 142,287,000 people actually working – or 1 worker on disability for every 16.3 people working.

In addition, 165,469 spouses of disabled workers were taking payments in June, along with 1,899,756 children of disabled workers. That brought the total number of June beneficiaries to 10,798,686.

Federal disability insurance is paid for by a 1.8 percent payroll tax split between employers and workers. Those who are self-employed pay the full 1.8 percent.

The Social Security System’s Disability Insurance Trust Fund has run deficits in each of the last three fiscal years, requiring the federal government to borrow money to pay benefits.

In fiscal 2009, the fund had an $8.5 billion deficit, a $20.8 billion deficit in 2010 – and a $25.3 billion deficit in fiscal 2011.

Gov. Rick Scott: Florida Won't Implement Medicaid Expansion of Obamacare

Monday, 02 Jul 2012 06:27 PM
By Jim Meyers and Kathleen Walter
http://www.newsmax.com/Newsfront/scott-obamacare-implement-florida/2012/07/02/id/444247?s=al&promo_code=F5E2-1

Florida Gov. Rick Scott tells Newsmax he will refuse to implement provisions of Obamacare despite the Supreme Court’s ruling because the healthcare overhaul will be “devastating” to Florida families and taxpayers.

The first-term Republican, who headed a healthcare corporation before running for office, also says the November election is going to be all about repealing the healthcare legislation, adding that “if we care about jobs, we have to repeal Obamacare.”

In an exclusive interview with Newsmax.TV, Scott says he is “disappointed” that the Supreme Court did not declare Obamacare unconstitutional.”
“It’s going to be devastating for our families that need care, it’s going to be devastating for taxpayers, and it’s going to kill jobs,” he declares.

“I’m very hopeful that this will be repealed and I’m going to make sure, as much as I can, that it doesn’t adversely impact Floridians. We have a very good safety net for our citizens. We need more jobs, not more government involvement in our lives.”

Scott stated recently that Florida will not expand Medicaid to include more recipients nor set up healthcare insurance exchanges in the state.

He explains: “First off, if you look at a government program [elsewhere] in the world, it promises it’s going to cover everything, then immediately runs out of money and starts rationing care by underpaying providers, hospitals, doctors, and so then you don’t have access to care. That’s exactly what Obamacare will do.

“This Medicaid expansion – we’re not going to implement that because what it’s going to actually do is reduce jobs in our state. It’s going to cost our taxpayers significant amounts of money. The Medicaid expansion in our state will cost 1.9 billion dollars.

“In the beginning it will be funded by the federal government, but over time they’ll have us, the state taxpayers, pay more and more of it. And remember it’s our federal taxes that pay for this.”

Scott disagrees with the assertion that the state would be smart to accept federal funding and expand Medicaid.

“All it’s going to do is make more individuals dependent on a program that ultimately will not be able to provide the care that people will rely on. It’s exactly what’s happened with Medicaid. We’re struggling right now to be able to afford our K-12 education system because Medicaid has been growing in our state at three-and-a-half times our general revenue.

“So if you care about education in our state, you don’t want me to do this. If you’re a taxpayer, you know you don’t want me to do this. And if you’re a business that has to pay these taxes, you say, ‘Look, I’m competing in the global marketplace and the higher my costs go, there’s going to be less jobs for Floridians because my customers care about cost.’”

As for Scott’s intention not to establish healthcare exchanges in his state, he tells Newsmax; “What’s in my control is we’re not going do it at the state level because I know it’s going to raise the cost of healthcare for Floridians.”

“The Congressional Budget Office says these exchanges will increase the cost for a family for their health insurance if they buy it by $2,100 a year. Our families can’t afford that.

“These exchanges are going to allow the federal government to dictate what kind of insurance is sold. They will make sure that it’s a policy you can’t afford because it will cover a lot of things you might not want to buy. You should have the choice.

“We could fix healthcare if we wanted to. We would say, make sure that all providers post their prices so you, as a consumer, know what things cost. Make sure there’s more competition. As we know in business, with competition prices come down, quality goes up.

“If you’re worried about pre-existing conditions, give the individual the same tax breaks as an employer so when you change jobs, you don’t lose your health insurance just like you don’t lose your life insurance if you have your own policy.
“And finally, reward people for doing the right thing. Don’t smoke, exercise, eat right. If we do all these things, the cost of healthcare will go down. That’s the issue we’re dealing with. This is an insurance solution, not a cost of healthcare solution.”

Scott says he “absolutely” has the support of Floridians for his stance on Obamacare.

“They know that we don’t want a federal program that’s going to ration care. We don’t want a federal program that’s going to raise our taxes to levels that we would not be able to afford. We don’t want a federal program that’s going to kill jobs.

“Just like my election in 2010, it’s going to be about jobs. We need more jobs. This is going to be the biggest jobs killer ever.”
Governors in other states, he adds, “are coming to the same conclusion. Their taxpayers can’t afford it. It’s bad for the citizens of their state, for anybody that cares about the healthcare of the citizens of their state, for jobs in their state. So other governors are making similar decisions.”

Obamacare is scheduled to be fully implemented in 2014, meaning this year’s election is the last chance to repeal it before it takes effect.

“President Obama is committed to implementing this law,” Scott says. “I’m going to use my best efforts to make sure it gets repealed.

“The most important thing we have to do is look at these elections and understand that elections have consequences. The election this fall is going to be about jobs and it’s going to be about repealing Obamacare. If we care about jobs, we have to repeal Obamacare.

“We already have trillion-dollar federal deficits. Who’s going to pay for this unbelievable expansion? As the Supreme Court said, this is a significant tax. This is one of the biggest tax increases in the history of our country. Everyone is going to have to pay for this.

“It’s a big tax increase, but more importantly, it’s going to have a significant impact on your ability to get the healthcare that you deserve.”

In his Newsmax interview, Scott also discusses the legal tug-of-war between his state and the federal government over efforts to remove ineligible Florida voters from the rolls, and predicts that the Sunshine State will “go red” and vote Republican in November.
